What is Copywriting?

The Concise Oxford English Dictionary defines “copywriting” as the writing of the text of advertisements or publicity material. 

And because advertisements and publicity materials are produced to achieve certain purposes, a copywriter is someone who knows how to write them in a way that achieves those purposes.  In other words, he/she must have a way with words and the ability to understand different target audiences.

It is not enough for a copywriter to have a strong command of the language he/she is writing in! More important is the ability to speak into the hearts and minds of your target audience.
